A new way to buy technology, without the jargon

Motherboard supply refurbished technology to businesses looking to reduce their carbon footprint and costs. They had a vision; to make life easier for their customers. But this required a new way of thinking about the customer journey.

Motherboard knew that the people using their services are not usually tech savvy – office managers and HR teams didn’t want to wade through complicated tech specifications. They needed to match a product to the individual needs of their staff.

We designed a new platform interface enabling them to find exactly what they need for their teams in a hassle free way.

A simple three step process

We developed a simple three step journey to support Motherboard’s end users purchase laptops, phones, phone plans and optional accessory bundles for their businesses.

By creating a profile for their new starter and selecting the type of work they did, users were presented with a tailored range of available technology to meet their needs. There was no need for tech jargon, instead, we used clear imagery and human centric language.

The new platform and purchase journey also allows appropriate technology and wellbeing bundles to be delivered directly to employees' places of work or homes, with ease.

A single dashboard

As their client’s teams grow, it becomes difficult to keep track of what technology is where, what needs upgrading, or is no longer utilised. The new platform we created allows Motherboard’s customers to purchase, assign and manage their employee technology assets from one, dedicated online space.
